Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Hull Connect, operated by Hull Connect Marine: the boat marketplace, listing a boat as a private seller, and listing a dealership’s inventory. They apply when you browse boats, contact a seller, list a boat or create an account. If we have signed a separate written agreement with you, that agreement wins wherever the two differ.

Hull Connect is a marketplace. We list boats for sale by dealerships and private sellers, market them, and pass a buyer’s inquiry to the seller. We are not a party to any sale. We do not own, inspect or hold any boat, and we do not handle payment, escrow, title, registration, financing or closing. Those are between the buyer and the seller.

Every listing comes from its seller. A dealership’s boats are read from the dealership’s own website and checked again regularly; a private seller’s boat is described by the seller. We work to keep listings accurate and current, but we cannot promise that a price, a specification, a photo or a boat’s availability is correct. Confirm the details with the seller, and inspect the boat or have it inspected, before you buy.

We may decline, edit for presentation, or remove any listing, including one that is not a boat, is outside the United States, or appears to be sold.

When you contact a seller through Hull Connect, we pass your name, contact details and message to that seller so they can reply. What you agree with a seller is between the two of you. Browsing and contacting sellers is free.

A dealership can list its inventory on Hull Connect with a monthly subscription, and can add optional marketing packages. The plan, the price and what it includes are agreed in writing before it starts, and we will always agree any change with you before it takes effect. A dealership can ask us at any time to correct a listing or to take its boats off Hull Connect.

Keep your login credentials to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access.

When you send us photos or a description for a listing, you are telling us you have the right to, and you let us show them on Hull Connect and in our marketing of that boat. They remain yours.

Do not use Hull Connect to post anything false or unlawful, to upload content you have no right to, to send spam to sellers, or to copy the marketplace in bulk. We may suspend an account that does, and we will tell you why.

We work to keep Hull Connect running. We cannot promise it will never be unavailable, and we are not able to accept responsibility for losses caused by downtime, by a listing being wrong, or by a sale between a buyer and a seller.

Nothing here limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited.

If you list your boat with us as a private seller, we market it: we build the listing and put it in front of buyers through the Hull Connect marketplace and our social channels, and we connect you with buyers who are interested. You keep the title, you set the asking price, you talk with buyers and you decide which offer to accept. We are not a broker, an escrow agent or a title service, and money for the boat passes between you and the buyer, never through us.

The full agreement, including how long the listing runs and how either of us can end it, is set out in writing and signed before we begin. Nothing starts until it is.

Our fee for a private sale is a two percent success fee on the final sale price, due only when the boat sells to a buyer we brought you and the sale closes. There is no upfront cost: no listing fee, no marketing fee, no monthly charge, and nothing owed if the boat does not sell. A boat sold for $100,000 means a $2,000 fee and $98,000 to you.

We invoice the fee when the sale closes and it is due within seven days. Any exception is agreed in writing before the listing goes live.

You can stop using Hull Connect whenever you like and ask us to close your account or take your listing down. We may end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, with notice and an explanation.
